4.5"x6" DMC floss on tea-dyed cotton
I have a thing about people-faced deer. I lurves them. More experimenting with embroidery. This is very simple. Just backstitch and sort of sashiko style for the spots on the body. I got too into making the tiniest stitches possible before I realized it actually didn't look that good and made the lines look really wobbly. Oops! Oh well. ^o^ |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Does this have some kind of background, e.g. mythological etc.?

The hardest person to know is yourself.
I wish I had an interesting backstory for these things. They just live in my head. ^_^ There's definitely some influence from Miyazaki and also The Endless Forest here though the general idea of animals with 'human' faces has been with me since I was a child.

You should try embroidery! It's so inexpensive to get into...just the cost of a hoop, floss and needles and you probably already have some fabric you could use!
